The Strange Situation – Conflict (It Pushes Us Apart)
This is about the song “Conflict (It Pushes Us Apart)” on the The Strange Situation album.
What if “conflict” was just like Einstein’s theory of special relativity, in which two observers seeing “reality” from different perspectives see a different reality? Special relativity says both observers’ observations are absolutely correct, although different.
Conflict (It Pushes Us Apart) applies special relativity to conflict theory, and postulates that different observers’ perceptions of a “conflict” (they are involved with) are fundamentally correct, although different. The observers act on their observations with the effect of pushing the observers further apart. Perhaps if they recognized that the observer on the other side of the conflict has a fundamentally accurate, but different, perception of the conflict, it might open their minds.
Conflict (It Pushes Us Apart) is a musical thought experiment from The Strange Situation. Keeping it strange just for you!
